The top-floor Parthenon Gallery — laid out at the exact orientation and scale of the temple, with the Acropolis framed through the glass — is one of the smartest museum spaces in Europe and makes the marble finally legible. The catch: the most famous friezes here are plaster casts because the originals are in the British Museum, which some visitors find quietly deflating.
