For history & culture, Arc de Triomf is hit or miss.
A warm, Mudéjar-style red-brick arch (1888 World's Fair gateway) heading a broad, palm-lined promenade down to Ciutadella — and that's genuinely all it is: a five-minute photo and a people-watching strip where skaters, buskers and bubble-blowers gather. Don't make a trip of it; you can't go up it and there's nothing to enter. Its one real use is as the start of a walk — stroll the passeig to the park and on into El Born for tapas.
The arch was designed by Josep Vilaseca as the main entrance to the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exposition and leads to Parc de la Ciutadella. · model-knowledge
