For nature & scenery, Sitges (day-trip) is hit or miss.
Whitewashed old streets, a photogenic church on the headland, clean beaches and a famously buzzy, LGBTQ-friendly nightlife and café scene — an easy cercanías ride from the centre. It's the relaxed beach-town antidote to the big city. The catch: it heaves in high summer and during festivals (Carnival, Pride), and out of season it can feel sleepy.
Sitges is about 35–40 minutes by Rodalies (cercanías) train from Barcelona and is internationally known as a gay-friendly beach resort with a large Carnival. · model-knowledge
