For beauty & photography, Kreuzberg is hit or miss.
This is the Berlin people fly in for — graffiti, falafel, the Tuesday/Friday Turkish market on Maybachufer, riverside drinking on the Landwehrkanal, and a dense queer and nightlife scene. The catch: gentrification has sanded down some edge, parts feel grungy or sketchy at night, and 'authentic Kreuzberg' is itself now a marketed brand.
