The climb up rewards you with the best photo angle back at the walls and the Old Town, plus breezy ramparts that are far less crowded than the main loop. The catch is a steep flight of steps and not much interpretation once inside — it's about the structure and the view, not exhibits. Skipping it when it's already on your ticket would be a mistake.
