Is Brunelleschi's Dome Climb worth it as a couple?
Worth itAs a couple
As a couple, Brunelleschi's Dome Climb works.
You climb between the dome's two shells, pass within touching distance of Vasari's vast Last Judgement fresco, and emerge to the best 360° view in the city. The catch: it's 463 steep, narrow, claustrophobic steps with no elevator, the timed slots sell out days ahead, and the staircase squeezes single-file past descending crowds. Anyone with mobility issues, claustrophobia, or a fear of heights should skip it outright.
Brunelleschi Pass is €30 (ages 15+); covers Dome, Bell Tower, Baptistery, Opera Museum and Santa Reparata, valid 3 days with one entry each. · duomo.firenze.it
The Dome climb is 463 steps with no lift; a timed slot is mandatory and, since 1 March 2025, a photo ID is required at the gate. Not advised for those with heart problems, vertigo or claustrophobia. · duomo.firenze.it
