Is Elevador de Santa Justa worth it in a day?

DependsIn a day

Elevador de Santa Justa is a real time commitment — fit it in only if it's a priority.

Allow 20–60 min (mostly queue).

A charming 1902 iron lift with a top deck that frames the Baixa grid, the castle and the Carmo ruins. The honest catch: the queue to ride is absurd — often an hour — and overpriced for a 30-second trip; you can reach almost the same upper viewpoint for free by walking from Carmo Square. Admire the ironwork, skip the line.
