A wilder, more rewarding beach than the famous piers — tide pools full of sea life, caves and arches to explore at low tide, and camping back from the sand. The trade-off is distance (the far end of Malibu) and tides: the caves and pools only reveal themselves at low tide, so timing makes or breaks the visit.
