Is Jungle Island worth it on a budget?

SkipOn a budget

On a budget, skip Jungle Island — the spend outweighs the payoff.

~$40+ adult, encounters extra

Kids enjoy the up-close animal encounters — lemurs, sloths, exotic birds, a private beach, and a zipline — and it's centrally placed on Watson Island between downtown and South Beach. The honest catch: it's smaller, more dated, and pricier than visitors expect, encounters cost extra on top of admission, and it draws criticism as a captive-animal attraction. Fit read: it's best for younger children (roughly toddler to about 8) who want to touch and feed animals up close; for a real zoo day with older kids or animal-lovers, the far larger cageless Zoo Miami is the better trip despite the longer drive.
