Even on a tight schedule, The Bass earns the hours.
Allow 1–1.5 hours.
A small, sharply curated contemporary museum in a handsome Deco shell (the old Miami Beach library) set in palm-shaded Collins Park, a block off the ocean. The draw is the building and the editing: a focused, rarely crowded hour with one or two strong shows rather than a sprawling collection. The catch is exactly that smallness — it lives or dies on the current exhibition, so it's hit-or-miss and not worth a special trip if what's up doesn't grab you.
