Why we say this
Insider secrets & local vibes
Built on 132 tulip-shaped concrete pillars rising 15 feet over the Hudson, it's a free public park that looks like a piece of land art — 'the most imaginative outdoor space' in the city.
It's small enough to walk in full in about 20 minutes, so visitors who trekked to the Meatpacking District for it often feel it didn't justify the trip.
6am–noon to skip the timed-ticket requirement; sunset for views and summer evenings for Amph performances.
Getting there
Pier 55 on the Hudson at West 13th St, Meatpacking District (A/C/E or L to 14 St–8 Av; pairs with the southern end of the High Line).
Hours
Open daily, roughly 6am–1am.
Booking
Free; timed-entry reservations may be required at busy times (and sell out fast), but not needed in early-morning hours. Amph show tickets sold separately.
