A genuinely good linear park over the buried Paillon river: shaded lawns, a long mirror-fountain where kids bolt through the jets, and a clear green sightline from Place Masséna toward the sea. It's a free, central breather rather than a hidden gem — locals use it to commute and picnic, not to linger for an afternoon — and through ~2024-2028 its northern end near the old MAMAC is a live construction site for the 'Saison 2' urban-forest extension, so expect hoardings and a less serene stretch than the photos suggest.
The 'Coulée verte' linear park opened 26 October 2013 over the covered Paillon river, with ~12 hectares of green space at opening. · fr.wikipedia.org
Its centrepiece miroir d'eau by Place Masséna is a 3,000 m² water mirror with 128 jets; a 'Saison 2' extension adds ~8 hectares further north. · nice.fr
