For romance, Sainte-Chapelle is hit or miss.
Up a tight stair from a modest lower chapel, you emerge into 15 metres of near-continuous stained glass — on a sunny afternoon it's overwhelming. The room is tiny, so it fills fast; aim for opening or a clear day.
