Is Karlštejn Castle Day-Trip worth it with kids?

DependsWith kids

With kids, it depends on the day.

The easiest castle escape from Prague — a short train ride and a leafy uphill walk to a dramatically-sited fortress, with a stunning gilded chapel on the premium tour. The catch: the village approach is a gauntlet of souvenir stalls, the best interior (the Holy Cross chapel) needs the pricier, must-book-ahead Tour II, and the standard tour can feel thin. Pleasant but touristy.
