Sidewalk cafes, the legendary City Lights bookstore, Washington Square, and an aroma of garlic and espresso — one of the most genuinely atmospheric neighborhoods to just wander and eat. The catch: a few blocks tilt touristy, and the best move is simply lingering rather than 'seeing' anything.
