Is Red Beach worth it solo?

Worth itSolo

Solo, Red Beach works.

The color is genuinely stunning and unlike any beach most people have seen. The decisive catch in 2026: after repeated rockfalls (2018, 2023, and a major one in December 2025 amid the island's earthquake activity) the land approach from the Akrotiri side is officially closed and authorities actively discourage walking it. You can no longer treat the old 'rocky scramble' as a live option — reaching the sand now means a short water-taxi or boat hop from Akrotiri's little harbour (about 10 minutes, a few euros), or you simply admire it from the clifftop overlook. Walking down is trespassing into a rockfall zone, not a shortcut.
