For food & drink, Fira (Thira) Town is hit or miss.
Fira has the energy Oia lacks — bars, late-night spots, the museums, and the cable car down to the old port. The caldera views are genuinely spectacular, but the center is dense, commercial, and overrun when cruise ships dock. A useful base more than a destination in itself.
