Is Asakusa worth it for foodies?

DependsFor food

For food & drink, Asakusa is hit or miss.

Beyond the temple it's the most 'old Tokyo' of the big tourist areas: low buildings, craft shops, rickshaws, kimono-clad visitors and Sumida River views toward Skytree. It leans heavily touristy and a bit theme-parky around the main streets, but step a couple of blocks out and it quiets fast.
