For beauty & photography, Vasari Corridor delivers.
Reopened in 2024 after long closure, this kilometre-long secret skyway lets you walk the Medici's private route above the city and across the bridge — a thrill for history buffs. The catch: tickets are pricey and limited, the famous self-portrait collection has been removed, and it's now a fairly bare corridor sold on novelty and views. Worth it for the romance of the route, less for what's on the walls.
Built by Vasari in 1565 for the Medici, the corridor reopened to the public on 21 December 2024 after more than eight years closed. · uffizi.it
The historic self-portrait collection (~2,000 works) has been moved to a dedicated section in the Uffizi; access is via an Uffizi ticket with a supplement (about €43 total). · uffizi.it
